Beach Guide 2015

In Northern Mallorca there’s much more to the beach than sand between your toes.  From secluded coves to long expanses of sand there’s a beach to suit you.

Puerto Pollensa’s famous Pinewalk is home to a selection of small narrow beaches broken up by fishing jetties from where children often attempt to catch fish in their nets.  The beach slopes gently into the sea and is made of fine white sand.  There’s always some shade available from the trees which line the Pinewalk.  The narrower stretches of beach along the Pinewalk do not have parasols or sunbeds, nor are they watched by lifeguards as some of the larger stretches are.

Playa de Pollensa is the widest and longest stretch of beach in Puerto Pollensa, running from the marina to the quieter Llenaire.  As with all the wider beaches in the Port from May-October sunbeds and parasols may be hired on a daily basis.  Even on the busiest of days it’s possible to find a spot all to your self.  The beach here is made of fine sand and gently shelves away into the clear sea, the sand here being the softest in the Port – perfect for those sand castle creations.  Various breakwaters along the way allow for swimming adventures!  Along this stretch of beach you’ll find a selection of pedalos and other water activities.  In 2014 an inflatable water park made an appearance which offered a new family friendly activity.  The waterpark has returned for the 2015 season.  Toilets and shower facilities are available on the Playa de Pollensa along with a couple of beach bars serving food and drink.   At the marina end of the beach there are beach volleyball courts and more extreme water based activities available for hire.  Life guards also patrol the Playa de Pollensa during high season.
